The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, detained Zugdidi Municipality representative in village Zeda Etseri Severiane Berulava and citizen Badri Sh. on the facts of bribery in large quantities and assistance in bribery.

Investigation established, that Severiane Berulava with the assistance of Badri Sh. demanded from a citizen bribe in amount of 15 000 GEL and promised to assist him in putting former ambulatory building of village Zeda Etseri up on the auction. The detainees took partial amount of demanded money – 5 000 GEL in advance and were detained by the officers of Anti-corruption Agency. Money in the amount of 5 000 GEL is seized as evidence.

Investigation is carried out on the fact of bribery and assistance in bribery (Article 338, part II, subparagraph B, which envisages from 7 to 11 years of imprisonment).
Upon the decision of Tbilisi City Court detained individuals were sentenced to pretrial detention.
