The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Kasham Karaev, representative of Marneuli administrative unit in Kulari community on the fact of bribery.

Investigation established, that Kasham Karaev, promised citizen of Georgia Giorgi K. and citizen of  Nepal Ashok K. assistance in issuing agricultural certificate of origin for 50 tons of product, with fake data in it and in return demanded 5 500 GEL as a bribe. Karaev took GEL 500 in advance and GEL 5 000 when the certificate was handed out.

The officers of Anti-corruption Agency detained Kasham Karaev when the money was handed out. GEL 5000 is seized as evidence.

Investigation is carried out on the fact of bribery. (Article 338, Part I, which envisages form 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.)
