IPRM Meeting Held in Gali

47th IPRM Meeting was held in Gali. Representatives of Central Government alongside participants of the meeting discussed every important incident that took place within 31 May – 27 June period.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the issue of illegal detention of Archiko and Paata Rogava, residents of village Rike, Zugdidi region. Representatives of Central Government stated as a matter of principle that so-called imprisonment of the above-mentioned individuals violates fundamental human rights and they should be released unconditionally.

Talks were also held on Giga Otkhozoria issue, Georgian citizen who was murdered in village Khurcha, on 19th of May 2016. Representatives of Central Government presented conclusive report as well as shared position that it’s is necessary to detain convicted individual Rashid Kanji-Oghli, convey him to Central Government and bring him to criminal justice.

During today’s meeting, discussions were also held on the necessity of effective functioning of so-called “Hot Line”. Participants reached full consensus on the above-mentioned issue.
