The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Giorgi N. chief officer of culture and monument protection section under culture, monument protection, and preschool and out-of-school education institutions coordination service of the Poti Municipality City Hall. 

Investigation established, that the detainee promised foreign citizen to assist him in purchasing land plot registered on the balance of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and later accelerate the direct purchase procedure of the land plot and in return demanded 10% of the price of the plot – GEL 24 000 and demanded part of the amount - GEL 8000 in advance.

On 1st of December, 2017, Giorgi N. took GEL 8 000 demanded as a bribe when he was detained by the officers of the Anti-corruption Agency under SSSG.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribery in especially large quantities under article 338, part II, subparagraph “B”, which envisages form 7 to 11 years of imprisonment.
