Wess Mitchell, United States Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs alongside Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikheil Janelidze visited village Odzisi of Dusheti region at the occupation line. The representatives of the Information-analytical Department under the State Security Service of Georgia provided Wess Mitchel with the information on every challenge and threat emanating from the occupied Tskhinvali region.

The representatives of the State Security Service of Georgia familiarized the assistant Secretary of State with the problems that the local residents encounter on everyday basis due to barbed wires, fences and other artificial barriers.

Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs pays an official visit to Georgia. Wess Mitchel delivered a speech at NATO-Georgia public diplomacy forum, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia, President and the Chairman of the Parliament. Assistant Secretary of State held other high level meetings.
