Head of Information-Analytical Department under State Security Service of Georgia Irakli Beraia Attended Meeting Held in the Frames of CBRN First Respond Opportunity Development Project.

On 19-21 October, 2015, hotel Ambassador hosts working meetings on CBRN first respond project (project 44) organized by EU and initiated by CBRN risk mitigation excellence Centers.

Project 44 -“First respond opportunity development and enhancing regional cooperation in CBRN risk mitigation in South-East Europe, south Caucasus, Moldova and Ukraine”, aims at supporting 2015-2019 action plan.
The project aims at developing CBRN incidents respond opportunities through improving equipment and trainings as well as policy and enhancing interagency and regional cooperation. 

19-21 October meetings will evaluate current situation in the project participant countries, detect needs, define a particular plan for project implementation, and schedule events as regards CBRN incidents response. Details, including dates and expected results will be discussed within the frames of the meeting.
It’s worth noting, that the project is financed by EU and its implementation covers 2015-2017. The meeting brought together relevant experts from countries involved in the project - Georgia, Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine, as well as representatives from partner organizations.

It should also be noted that the Government of Georgia pays special attention to fight against CBRN risks. Under the decree of Government of Georgia, a relevant inter-agency council was created, which is under the chairmanship of State Security Service of Georgia. National strategy action plan for 2015-2019 on CBRN risk mitigation is already elaborated. The document highlights the components of CBRN risk management as follow: prevention, detection, preparedness and respond, as well as international and regional cooperation.
