The 68th IPRM meeting took place in Ergneti. During the meeting the parties discussed t illegal process of so-called border construction as well as detentions of Georgian citizens on charges of illegal crossing of so-called border.

The representatives of the Central Government discussed the issue of Giorgi Giunashvili who was detained on June 8th. Occupation forces and de facto regime representatives provided Georgian side with the information in accordance to which, Giunashvili was initially detained for crossing of so-called border, but lately de facto Prosecutor’s Office has launched the investigation on the fact of infliction of severe health injuries. Georgian side stated, that the above-mentioned charge is absurd and the issue of Giorgi Giunashvili will remain in the agenda of any format involving representatives of Central Government, until he is released from illegal imprisonment.

As for the Ossetian side, it once again raised the issue of delimitation and demarcation of so-called border, which resulted in sharply negative position from the representatives of the Central Government and what is more, IPRM format does not envisage discussion of political issues
