Anti-corruption Agency   under State Security Service of Georgia detained 2 persons on the fact of bribery and aiding in bribe-taking

As a result of joint operative-searching and investigative activities of the officers of Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia, detained 2 persons on the fact of bribery and aiding in bribe-taking.  A person named Amiran K. a ranger of Khoni Forest District of Imereti Forestry Service under the Ministry of   Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia and a Georgian national Valeri Q.

 Investigation established, that the citizen V. Q by assistance and mediation of Amirani K. the ranger of Khoni Forest District, offered and gave sum - 3000 GEL as a bribe to the head of Imereti Forestry Service, in exchange for removal of 25 cubic meters of dried wood logs from the cutting area which was under his supervision, therefor the Georgian national Valeri Q. and Amiran K. were detained as  accused persons.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribery and aiding in bribe-taking (Article 25-338, part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment).

Investigation is carried out by the Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia.
