IPRM Meeting took place in Ergneti

70th IPRM Meeting took place in Ergneti. The representatives of the Central Government discussed the necessity to ensure security at the occupation line as well as in the vicinities of the occupied territory during the parliamentary elections to be held on October, 8. The Central Government also stated that citizens of Georgia living beyond the occupation line should not be restricted freedom of movement and should be given the opportunity to use the constitutional voting right.

Constructive discussions were held regarding problems of local residents caused by illegally installed barbed wires, fences and so called banners, causing problems to the residents along the both sides of occupation line. During the meeting the parties also discussed issue of the Georgian citizens imprisoned in the so-called Tskhinvali prison and demanded their unconditional release in the shortest period of time. The next IPRM meeting will be held on October 26th.
