Anti-corruption Agency alongside General Inspection under Ministry of Corrections and Probation detained one person for Attempted Swindling

Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia alongside General Inspection under Ministry of Corrections and Probation as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained inspector Natela Jincharadze, the employee of Rustavi N16 establishment under the Ministry of Corrections and Probation for attempted swindling in large quantities by misusing her powers.

Investigation established, that Natela Jincharadze promised a citizen to give assistance in early release of a prisoner in N 17 Rustavi establishment and in return demanded and received 7 000 USD when she was detained.

Investigation is carried out on the fact of attempted swindling. (Article 19-180 part III subparagraph “A” and “B”, which envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment. Investigation is carried out by Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia.

“Within its competence and through cooperation with Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia, General Inspection under Ministry of Corrections and Probation carried out the crime prevention activities. Relevant agencies under the Ministry were actively involved in the operative-searching activities and implemented every necessary measure in order to solve the case. Ministry of Corrections and Probation will closely cooperate with law enforcement agencies in future in terms of crime prevention within its system” - Amiran Kartvelishvili, head of General Inspection under Ministry of Corrections and Probation stated.
