The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Giorgi Matiashvili, chief officer of property management, economic development and statistics unit under Gurjaani Municipality administrative unit on the fact of bribery in especially large quantities.

Investigation established, that Giorgi Matiashvili demanded bribe in amount of GEL 35 000, taking GEL 5 000 in advance and in return promised a citizen to underestamate the price of  ex-biolaboratory in village Akhasheni, Gurjaani Municipality, as well as put it on the auction and assist in winning the auction. The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under SSG detained Giorgi Matiashvili in the process of receiving  money, money in amount of GEL 5 000 received as a bribe was seized as evidence.

Investigation is carried out on the fact of bribery in especially large qunatities. (Article 338, part III, subparagraph “e”, which envisages from 11 to 15 years of imprisonment). Investigation is carried out by Anti-corruption Agency under SSG.
