SSG and MIA Units Conducted First Joint Exercise

Structural Units of State Security Service of Georgia and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia conducted joint exercise against terrorism, organized crime and CBRN threats.

The event brought together Vakhtang Gomelauri, head of State Security Service of Georgia, Giorgi Mghebrishvili, minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, members of government, representatives of embassies accredited in Georgia and diplomatic corps, as well as other officials.

The exercise aims at improving public security control and promoting fight against crime, as well as enhancing coordination between relevant units of State Security Service of Georgia and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, boosting operation and management efficiency.

De-mining and counterterrorism operations units of Special Operations Department under SSG, Special Tasks Department under MIA, Expert-criminalistics Department under MIA and Emergency Situations Management Agency participated in the exercise.

Upon the conclusion of the exercise, special equipment, weapons and various types of equipment were exhibited for the guests of the event.
