Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Attended the Burial Ceremony of the Fallen Member of the Special Unit

 

Vakhtang Gomelauri, Head of the State Security Service of Georgia alongside Giorgi Kvirikashvili Prime Minister of Georgia and members of the Government attended the burial ceremony Ivane Golashvili, member of the special unit fallen during special operation conducted on Beri Gabriel Salosi street.

Funeral service was held at St. George Kashueti Cathedral. SSSG Special Unit member was buried at Mukhatgverdi cemetery with military honors.

The Government fully covered burial costs of the deceased officer. Under the law enacted since 2015, the Government will pay one-time benefit in amount of GEL 100 000 to the family of the officer fallen in the line of duty and will receive monthly benefit in amount of GEL 1 000.

Vakhtang Gomelauri made comments:

“I would like to express condolences to the family, this is the greatest loss for the family of course, and every courageous men is important for our country. I would also like to express gratitude to wounded officers, to everyone who took part in the special operation. I would also like to use this opportunity and express gratitude to the employees of emergency service which provided 20-hour medical assistance to our officers of special units, as well as to fire-rescue brigades, who put a great effort”, - Vakhtang Gomelauri stated.
