The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Merab G. leading specialist of military conscription section of Krtsanisi administrative unit on the fact of bribery.

Investigation established, that the detainee demanded GEL 1000 as a bribe from a citizen who reached the age of 25 and in return promised to assist him in suspending the date of military conscription.

On December 8, the detainee received the partial amount of the demanded sum GEL 650 and explained to the citizen that he was released from compulsory military service.

On December 11, the mentioned person received GEL 350, the rest of the amount demanded as a bribe, when he was detained by the officers of Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia.

Investigation is carried out on the fact of bribery, Article 338, part I of the Criminal Code of Georgia which envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.
