Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism Meeting (IPRM) was adjourned by the Representatives of the Central Government of Georgia

The representatives of the Central Government of Georgia discussed the possibility to transfer the body of Archil Tatunashvili as well as transfer of illegally detained Georgian nationals Levan Kutashvili and Ioseb Pavliashvili to the Georgian Government-controlled territory from occupied Akhalgori.

Representatives of the State Security Service of Georgia did not get clear answers on the questions of principle asked in the course of the meeting and refused to participate in protest in the discussions of issues envisaged by the agenda.

“It was a very difficult meeting. It’s obvious, that two questions have been raised by us in the context of Tatunashvili case – when will the body of Tatunashvilli be transferred to the family and when will the two Georgian nationals be able to leave the territory of occupied Akhalgori. We did not get the clear answers upon the conclusion of the discussion which lasted more than three hours. We decided to temporarily adjourn the meeting after listening to these. Taking into consideration the fact that Tatunashvili case – the incident that took place on February 22  - is crucially important for the Central Government, we are ready to continue  discussions on every important issue, including those that were envisaged by today’s agenda, after the body of Tatunashvili is transferred to his family”  - Kakhaber Kemoklidze, Deputy Head of Informtion-Analytical Department of the State Security Service of Georgia stated.
