Anti-corruption Agency under the SSSG Detained an Individual on the Fact of Bribe-giving

The officers of the Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia, alongside employees of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, detained the citizen Vazha G. on the fact of bribe-giving.
Investigation established, that Vazha promised Aleksi. G., the acting head of environment patrol and quick respond section’s secondary unit of Achara and Guria regional division under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia GEL 10 000 for providing assistance and protection during illegal extraction of inert materials outside the periphery envisaged by the license.
The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia detained Vazha.G, when he was giving partial amount of the mentioned sum – GEL 3000.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribe-giving (Article 339, part II of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages from 4 to 7 years of imprisonment). Investigation is carried out by the Anti-corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia.
