Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia nominated Ivane Golashvili, fallen officer of special unit of the State Security Service of Georgia for King Vakhtang Gorgasali First-degree Order. Nomination has been made to the President of Georgia. The Prime Minister alongside the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Vakhtang Gomelauri met with the family members of Ivane Golashvili at the Government Administration.

Today, the head of the State Security Service of Georgia awarded Ivane Golashvili posthumously with the Medal of “Bravery” for his outstanding courage demonstrated in the line of duty. Vakhtang Gomelauri granted the medal to Tamuna Khelaia - the spouse of Ivane Golashvili.

Ivane Golashvili, the member of the special unit of the State Security Service of Georgia, fell in the line of duty during a Counter-terrorism operation against Akhmed Chataev and his commando conducted on Beri Gabriel Salosi street, on November 21-22, 2017.

Today, the State Security Service of Georgia marks its 3rd anniversary since its establishment. The Service was found as a result of reform implemented on August 1, 2015.
