General Inspection under State Security Service of Georgia Detained three Individuals on the Fact of Illegal Access to the Computer Systems

The officers of General Inspection under the State Security Service of Georgia alongside the officers of General Inspection under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of investigative activities detained the citizens of Georgia: Shalva K., Kakha Z., and Zakaria G. on the fact of illegal access to the computer systems committed by a group with a prior arrangement.

Investigation established that Shalva K., Kakha Z. and Zakaria G. with a prior arrangement have been providing  illegal assistance to the citizens in passing theoretical exam for driving license through illegal access to the computer system. In particular, the detainees gave the special technical equipment to the applicants of the exams at the MIA Service Agency: a Micro Camera and Micro earphones, as a result of which they received an audio signal by a portable computer at the adjacent territory of Examination Center. Thus, the detainees had an opportunity to see a visual image of the exam paper and dictated correct answers of the exam paper through listening devices. Mentioned individuals received different amountს of money for the illegal assistance.

The investigation seized USD 800 and GEL 1976 as evidence.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal access to the computer systems committed by a group with a prior arrangement. (Article 284, Part II, Sub-paragraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages from 2 to 5 years of imprisonment).
