Memorandum of Understanding Signed between the LEPL Operative-Technical Agency and National University of Ireland

The delegation of Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Investigative Research Centre of National University of Ireland is paying an official visit to the State Security Service of Georgia. Within the framework of the visit, the meetings were held with the Head of Operative-Technical Agency Koba Kobidze and his deputies, as well as with the specialists of cybersecurity, cybercrime investigation and digital forensics. The delegation got familiarized with the achievements and opportunities of the Operative-Technical Agency in the field of cybercrime and digital forensics.

In the scope of the visit, Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the LEPL Operative-Technical Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia and National University of Ireland in the field of cybersecurity, cybercrime investigation and digital evidences.

The signature of the Memorandum will give the Operative-Technical Agency an opportunity to retrain its personnel according to dedicated study programs recognized by the Law enforcement agencies of the EU.

The document envisages cooperation between the parties in terms of sharing trainings, courses, conducting exchange visits and providing consultation service. Within the framework of the Memorandum, mutual cooperation includes elaboration of distant and regular study programs, exchange of the achievements of scientific research, sharing cybersecurity and forensics products and services.

Cybersecurity and cybercrime investigative research Centre of National University of Ireland is one of the leading research Centres in the European Union, which has the cybersecurity, cyber investigation and digital forensics programs adapted to the necessities of the law enforcement. The Centre represents an official partner of E3 Cybercrime Centre of Europol and participates in various educational programs developed by Europol.

It is worth noting, that LEPL Operative-Technical Agency is the first state agency in the Caucasus region, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Investigative Research Centre of National University of Ireland.
