The Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Held Meeting with the U.S. National Security Adviser, Ambassador John Bolton

Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia and the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Vakhtang Gomelauri hosted the U.S. National Security Adviser, Ambassador John Bolton. The meeting has been held at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
The parties discussed security challenges facing Georgia, regional threats and cooperation enhancement perspectives in this context. During the meeting the importance of the US-Georgia strategic cooperation was highlighted.
Discussions have been also focused on security sector reform in Georgia. In this context, particular attention has been paid to the need of elaboration of country’s national security policy planning and effective coordination mechanisms. The parties also discussed the issue of establishment of the strategic level policy coordination authority in the field of security.
The visit of Ambassador John Bolton reaffirms the unwavering support of the US Administration towards Georgia. The United States of America, as a strategic partner of Georgia remains reliable supporter in terms of strengthening country’s security and territorial integrity.
