Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Held Meeting with Civilian Operations Commander of European Union

Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Grigol Liluashvili held meeting with Civilian Operations Commander of  European Union, Vincenzo Coppola. The meeting was attended by the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission (EUMM) Erik Høeg, the Director of the Information-Analytical Department of the State Security Service of Georgia, Manana Baghashvili and Deputy Director of Information-Analytical Department, Irakli Antadze. The parties discussed the existing situation in occupied territories and along the occupation line and held talks on the current challenges in security field.

Georgian side has emphasized particular role of the EU Monitoring Mission and highlighted the necessity of unlimited access on occupied territories. Particular attention has been paid to the importance of Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) and “Hot Line”.

In this context, the emphasis was made on the strengthening of existing mechanisms and their effective application. The readiness of the Central Government in terms of reviving work under the regular schedule based on the fundamental principles agreed upon long ago was reiterated.
