Vakhtang Gomelauri, the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia and Alessandro Pansa, the Director General of the Security Intelligence Department (DIS) of the Italian Republic signed the Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Italian Republic on the Exchange and Mutual Protection of Classified Information.

Signature of this Agreement aims to establish legal norms regulating mutual protection of the classified information exchanged and created in the process of cooperation between the two countries. Furthermore, this Agreement will create solid legal basis for the exchange of classified information in the fields of security, law enforcement, as well as foreign relations and other spheres, between the two countries.

The Agreement has been signed within the frames of an official visit of Vakhtang Gomelauri to the Italian Republic. Vakhtang Gomelauri also held meetings with the senior officials of relevant authorities responsible for security
