The former member of Tbilisi Municipality Assembly, former majoritarian of Krtsanisi district Temur Gorgadze was found guilty by Tbilisi City Court and the Court has passed a judgement of conviction on the charges of attempted swindling by misusing his official authority. According to the court’s decision, Temur Gorgadze is sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment.
Today, upon the completion of the court trial, the lawyer of the defendant stated, that Temur Gorgadze accused the deputy head of the State Security Service of Georgia Grigol Liluashvili of politically motivated revenge and linked Gorgadze’s detention with the interests of Grigol Liluashvili. The State Security Service of Georgia categorically denies the accusations. The Court has passed a judgement of conviction on the basis of number of evidences.
The Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia detained Temur Gorgadze on February, 28, 2018. Investigation established, that Temur Gorgadze demanded from a citizen of Georgia USD 7 000 and in return promised to release his relative through the Pardon Council. The officers of the Anti-corruption Agency detained Temur Gorgadze while he was receiving the part of the sum of money– USD 3 500.
