The Head of the State Security Service of Georgia Attended the Opening of Inter-agency Command and Staff Exercise “Didgori 2018”

The Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri attended the opening of the Inter-agency Command and Staff Exercise “Didgori 2018” at NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC) in Krtsanisi.

Prime Minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze, Minister of Defense, Levan Izoria and the Head of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces, Major General Vladimer Chachibaia addressed the participants and congratulated them on the launch of the exercise. After the official opening of the exercise, the invited guests headed off to the new headquarter of NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Center.

The Head of “Didgori 2018” Brigade General Zaza Chkhaidze conducted an information briefing on the exercise and provided the invited guests with the detailed information. “Didgori 2018” will last for five days. On the basis of the scenario of the exercise, the state authorities involved in the total defense, will conduct relevant activities within their competence and will have to interact in a coordinated manner against the background of hybrid warfare and other challenges.

The Command and Staff Exercise will be carried out with the support of computer simulation systems. The exercise “Didgori 2018” will be conducted at NATO-Georgian Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC), the Chancellery of the Government of Georgia and II Infantry Brigade base in Senaki.
