Anti-Corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia Detained Two Individuals on the Fact of Accepting Bribes and Assistance in Accepting Bribes

The officers of Anti-Corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained Gia O., leading specialist of International Relations Department of Tbilisi State Medical University and a citizen Lili J.

Investigation established, that the employee of Tbilisi State Medical University Gia O., with the assistance of Lili J. accepted USD 1000 as a bribe from a citizen and in return promised that the enrollee would successfully compete an interview necessary for enrollment at the same university, when they were detained by the officers of Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of accepting bribes and assistance in accepting bribes (Article 338, paragraph I of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment). Investigation is carried out by Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia.
