The officers of Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained G.A., head of Kvareli forest district of LEPL National Forestry Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and G. P., the specialist of the same forestry.

Investigation established, that the mentioned individuals took from a citizen a sum of money and in return promised to transfer forest reserve for pasture for a term of 6 months.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribe-taking (Article 338, Part II, sub-paragraph “G” of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages from 7 to 11 years of imprisonment). Investigation is carried out by Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia
