The officers of Anti-corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities detained A.M., representative of Mayor of Gardabani Municipality in Jandari administrative unit on the fact of bribe-taking in large quantities.

Investigation established, that the mentioned individual took from citizens of the Republic of Turkey GEL 30 000 as a bribe and in return promised to transfer for use a state-owned land for a period of one year and provide official patronige. The mentioned individual was detained as the accused while accepting the bribe.

Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribe-taking in large quantities. (Article 338, paragraph II, sub-paragraph “B” of the Criminal Code of Georgia that envisages from 7 to 11 years of imprisonment). Investigation is carried out by Anti-corruption Agency under State Security Service of Georgia.
