Citizen of Georgia, Tsezar Tokhosashvili (aka Al-bara Shishani) wanted under Interpol red notice on terrorism charges has been extradited from Ukraine at Tbilisi International Airport.

On the basis of information obtained by the State Security Service of Georgia, as well as interagency cooperation, Security Service of Ukraine, detained Tsezar Tokhosashvili (aka Al-bara Shishani) in Kiev, Ukraine on November 12, 2019 on charges of participation in terrorist organization.
Investigation is ongoing at the Counterterrorism Center of the State Security Service of Georgia under article 327 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages membership and participation in terrorist organization and, imprisonment for a term of up to 15 years.

As a result of investigation carried out by the Counterterrorism Center, it has been established, that Tsezar Tokhosashvili left Georgia for the Syrian Arab Republic, joined the ranks of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” and has been taking active part in terrorist activities since 2015. He had had a close relation with the leaders of the terrorist organization “Islamic State” - Tarkhan Batirashvili, Islam Atabiev and Akmed Chataev. On the basis of the obtained evidence, Tsezar Tokhosashvili has faced criminal prosecution in absentia and sentenced to imprisonment by Tbilisi City Court.

Tsezar Tokhosashvili’s criminal case has been sent to Tbilisi City Court for substantial hearing.
