Employees of State Security Service Attended Workshop on Prevention of Corruption in Public Sector

A two-day workshop has been held on prevention of corruption in public sector jointly organized by State Security Service of Georgia and Council of Europe Office in Georgia. The event has been held within the framework of CoE/EU Partnership for Good Governance (PGG II) Project on “Enhancing the systems of prevention and combating corruption, money laundering and terrorist financing in Georgia”.

The workshop was opened by Deputy Head of Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Vahagn Muradyan, Head of Administration of the State Security Service, Nana Beridze and Director of Anti-corruption Agency of the State Security Service, Shota Rijamadze.

 

The event was led by Latvian and British experts -  Alvis Vilks and Quentin Reed. The workshop was attended by representatives of State Security Service and Prosecutor General’s Office.

The attendees discussed the matters of corruption prevention in public sector, including conflict of interests, whistleblowing mechanisms, public procurement and awareness-raising and collaboration with civil society in terms of corruption prevention.
