The training center of the State Security Service has been opened

The Prime Minister together with the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia and the Head of the State Security Service visited the newly opened Training Center of the State Security Service.

The State Security Service is introducing a new system of selecting, assessing and special training of the employees, which is based on the best practices of the EU and NATO member states. Just for this purpose, a new Training Center provided with modern training infrastructure has been established, where each employee of the State Security Service will be retrained by means of most recent technologies and programs. Furthermore, as a result of the implemented reform, the Service will have the ability to select and train qualified, highly intellectual, motivated staff who will attend special training which meets the international standards and will shape the attendees into high-calibre professionals.

The Training Center will employ up to 50 people who will be oriented toward professional development of the Service’s staff. The team of instructors consists of local and international experts, as well as current officers who will share their knowledge and experience to the Center’s trainees.

Security Museum will be arranged at the premises of the Center, which will house historic data related to the security field, as well as artefacts of the Security Service. The museum will host various educational events and public lectures for students and schoolchildren.

Modern library of the international standards is also arranged in the Center, which includes foreign and Georgian literature on security of various periods.

Apart from professional retraining, the Training Center of the State Security Service will elaborate a civic education platform for various social and age groups. The mentioned platform aims at raising awareness, popularization of the security sector, as well as engagement of the civil society.
