We would like to respond to an irresponsible interpretation disseminated by a particular media outlet, on possible presence in Georgia of fighters recruited by Russia and possible risks, which they create to state security.

We would like to make it perfectly clear that State Security Service of Georgia holds the information in full on activities and threats of such type and the Service carries out respective preventive measures. This, subsequently, provides for maintaining of peaceful and secure environment in the country.

Dissemination of such information in an affirmative manner, on the one hand serves the purpose of sowing fear and panic in some part of society, and on the other hand, is aimed at discrediting country’s law enforcement structures, which is a direct interest of hostile powers.

State Security Service of Georgia reiterates its readiness to cooperate with the media to the extent possible in the course of covering of state security matters.
