39th IPRM meeting was held in Gali. The representatives of the Central Government discussed the issue of citizen of Georgia Giga Otkhozoria, who was murdered in village Khurcha, Zugdidi region on May 19th. Georgian side once again requested from the occupation forces and de facto government to hand over the person accused of murder.

Delegation of the US which is paying an official visit to Georgia with the participation of Lt. General Ben Hodges, Commander of US Army Europe visited village Khurvaleti, Gori region which is situated along the occupation line.

69th IPRM meeting was held in Ergneti. The representatives of the Central Government of Georgia once again raised the issue of the citizen of Georgia Giorgi Giunashvili who is illegally imprisoned in occupied Tskhinvali and demanded his release in a short period of time.

In the framework of today’s meeting discussion on the issue related to the murder of the Georgian citizen Giga Otkhozoria in the village of Khurcha, Zugdidi District, on 19th of May, by the so-called “border guards” deployed along the occupation line, were resumed.

On July 26th, 2016, in the vicinities of village Kirbali, representatives of occupation forces attempted to illegally detain the local resident during which the latter suffered physical abuse. We strongly condemn the above mentioned fact, which serves as a another provocative action from occupation forces and threatens the peace and stability on the ground.

The 68th IPRM meeting took place in Ergneti. During the meeting the parties discussed t illegal process of so-called border construction as well as detentions of Georgian citizens on charges of illegal crossing of so-called border.

The 67th IPRM meeting took place in Ergneti. Representatives of the Central Government discussed the difficult situation in the vicinities of occupation line conditioned by illegal installation of barbed-wires, fences and so-called “border signs”, in the vicinities of the occupation lines, causing serious problems to the residents along the both sides of occupation line. The sides also discussed the facts of illegal detentions for crossing of so-called border. Representatives of Central Government have strongly condemned the actions of the occupation forces and delivered detailed information to the parties participating in the meeting.

President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and President of Slovakia Andrej Kiska visited village Khurvaleti, adjacent to occupation line. Head of Information-Analytical Department under State Security Service of Georgia, Irakli Beraia informed the presidents on the problems and occupation consequences caused by illegal installation of fences and barbed wires.

At the request of Central Government of Georgia, on May 27th, 2016, extraordinary meeting under Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) was held after 4-year Interval in Gali.
