The officers of Anti-corruption Agency under the State Security Service of Georgia, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, on the basis of court ruling detained G.N., the director of Ltd “Prizma” , the superintendents of work of the same company G.J and I.G and the expert of Ltd. “Audit-Phrevegi” R.K, on the fact of swindling in large quantities through using of forged documents. Within the same case, N.B, the director of Ltd “Mshentekzedamkhedveli” was brought to criminal justice on the fact of Issuing and using of forged documents which caused significant damage and T.M, an engineer of Ltd “Prizma” on the fact of indifference in industrial unit.

Head of State Security Service of Georgia, Grigol Liluashvili held meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the US to Georgia Kelly C. Degnan.
State Security Service categorically denies Tskaltubo Municipality Assembly’s former chairperson’s, Grigol Ivaneishvili’s accusations disseminated through one of the media outlets. The mentioned accusations do not have any legal ground and this is confirmed by a court decision ruled out in relation to the case.

The officers of Anti-corruption Agency, in cooperation with the relevant service of Tbilisi Municipality City Hall, as a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, on the basis of court ruling, detained a former head of Administration of LEPL “Agency for development of Municipal Services” on facts of misappropriation of another person's property in large quantities through using of official position and appropriation of another person’s property in large quantities by deceit and a factual owner of Ltd. “Techracer”, on the fact of providing of assistance in unlawful appropriation of other person’s property using official position, while 3 individuals were exposed to criminal justice.

The European Union has published an annual report on Georgia's compliance with the Association Agreement. Counterterrorism activities carried out by Georgia have been assessed in the annual report. In particular, it has been emphasized that in fight against terrorism, Georgia continued to support the global coalition to defeat ISIS. The annual report highlights that in January, Georgia adopted its national counterterrorism strategy for 2019-2021. The document notes that countering violent extremism is a pillar of the strategy and one of the top priorities identified.

The officers of Counterterrorism Center of the State Security Service of Georgia and the State Security Service of Ukraine, within the scope of international cooperation in the law-enforcement, as a result of the work carried out during several months, as a result of joint operative-searching and investigative activities, suppressed a crime of particularly serious category, which envisages preparation of contract murder under aggravating circumstances by a group, against two or more persons, manufacturing, purchase, keeping and sale of firearms and explosive equipment. As a result of simultaneously conducted activities 6 citizens of Georgia have been detained in Tbilisi and Batumi on the basis of court ruling. The officers of the Counterterrorism Center detained 2 citizens of Georgia: G.B and B.Ts. in Tbilisi on the fact of preparation of a murder in aggravating circumstances, while in Batumi 4 citizens of Georgia: R.B., N.B., G.T., and I.M. have been detained on the fact of illegal purchase-keeping, manufacturing and sale of explosive equipment.

Head of the State Security Service, Grigol Liluashvili held meeting with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, the Co-chair of International Geneva Discussions, Toivo Klaar. The meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the State Security Service, Alexander Khojevanishvili, Head of Informational-Analitical department Giorgi Sabedashvili and his deputy Iraki Antadze.

Representatives of the State Security Service of Georgia held an informational meeting with the junkers, attendees and trainers of the Command and Staff College of National Defence Academy of Georgia. The representatives of relevant units got the listeners familiarized with the key directions and priorities of Service’s conduct. Among the issues envisaged by the agenda, existing security situation in the occupied territories, the matters of protection of state secrets, as well as the activities of the service in Anti-terrorist and anti-corruption direction. Upon the completion of the meeting, the representatives of the State Security Service of Georgia responded to attendees’ questions.
