The mentioned accusations do not have any legal ground and this is confirmed by a court decision ruled out in relation to the case.

We would like to respond to the representatives and activists of opposition parties with regard to their statements that allegedly the employees of the State Security Service of Georgia were present at the protest actions and took videos and pictures of the current developments. It should be noted that the mentioned persons have not provided any evidence that would prove that persons attending particular protest actions are the representatives of the State Security Service.

Giga Nikoleishvili has been appointed as a Deputy Head of the State Security Service. Prior to this appointment, Giga Nikoleishvili headed Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Foreign media has released the photos of cartridges of firearms, used in the course of a terrorist attack that took place in New Zealand. Symbols and inscriptions in various languages, including Georgian are inscribed on them. The State Security Service of Georgia has already established cooperation with the strategic partners, in order to receive information on the individuals detained, as well as the weapons seized in the course of the terrorist attack. The State Security Service of Georgia expresses its condolences to the people of New Zealand over a terrorist attack.

Grigol Liluashvili has been appointed as the first Deputy Head of the State Security Service of Georgia. Grigol Liluashvili has been working as the Deputy Head of the State Security Service since 2017. Before his appointment on the position of the Deputy Head of the Service, Grigol Liluashvili was the Chairman of Regional Policy and Self-governance Committee in Parliament of 2016.
